Trimming Knife

A well-trimmed sample is a requirement for perfect section ribbons.
When a sample is trimmed with glass knives or razor blades hard particles may be introduced in the surface or the pyramidal sides. These particles immediately cause knife marks in the diamond knives.

        With the trim 90 blade the surface of the blocks as well as the 90° inclined block sides may be trimmed for following FIB, SBEM (3VIEW) or ATUMtome cutting. This knife can be used for all trim work at room temperature and low (cryo) temperatures.
