About us

Since 1976 Science Services has been an excellent partner in providing systems and materials for sample preparation in microscopy and ultracentrifugation. We are trusted by scientific and industrial laboratories throughout the globe.

Alan C. Wallace founded Science Services in November, 1976. As an engineer he worked for companies that are considered pioneers in the field of electron microscopy. Since then, the production of hairpin cathodes and the distribution of scientific laboratory equipment for research and development have been operated by Science Services with a high technical understanding. After over 30 years of work for the Science Services Group, Alan C. Wallace retired in 2007.

On 01.10.2007 Dipl. Phys. Ing. (FH) Stefan Schöffberger succeeded him in the management of Science Services. In his previous position as laboratory manager at the Center for NanoScience (CeNS) at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, he supported researchers in their daily work for several years. The technical expertise of the new Managing Director underlines the user-oriented focus of Science Services.

Service drives all aspects of our business. Researchers and developers should have to spend as little time as possible on the search for materials and the question of the right application.

We believe:

  • Technology must work and fulfill your task as easily and reliably as possible.
  • Chemicals must be available in the required quality to achieve the best possible results.
  • Information must be clear, quickly available and reliable.

By service, we mean the willingness to advise, communicate and inform. With our experience, we support research institutions in the procurement, use and maintenance of highly specialised products..

In addition to our professionalism, we always strive to have a positive impact on our environment. We take responsibility for future generations by supporting sustainability, social projects that seem important to us, and the development of meaningful technologies.
