LYNX Process Accelerator (LPA)

ELX12668

Developed for the time consuming step of wax infiltration during Paraffin processing of histological samples. The Lynx Process Accelerator (LPA) allows a high sample throughput without compromising quality of the wax infiltration step. With temperature control and vacuum for reduction of air inclusions. Fits max. 15 HP embedding cassettes.

Product Details

Description

One of the most time consuming tasks during Paraffin processing is wax infiltration. A very important step leading to poorly infiltrated blocks if not operated properly.

Once tissues reach the first paraffin step the cassette holder can be transferred to the Lynx-LPA for vacuum infiltration to un-burden the Lynx tissue processor to start with another cycle.

The Lynx Process Accelerator (LPA) has 3 positions to accept 3 HP cassette holders (not included, see Lynx II accessories) to fit a maximum of 15 embedding cassettes. The LPA uses the same aluminum vials for wax infiltration as the Lynx II tissue processor for histological sample processing for convenient tissue transfer from one machine to the other. Each Aluminum vial is fitted with a platform to allow a stir-bar to circulate the melted wax.

Functions:

  • Vacuum is applied per on- and off-time selection. If processing is paused, vacuum is released within 15 seconds

  • Vacuum cycle defined as on-time followed by the off-time. ‘0 on-time’ implies no vacuum and ‘0 off-time’ implies continuous vacuum pumping

  • End of cycle time, pumping is continued and temperature is held at the desired point

  • Temperature displays as two digit number without decimals
