Tannic Acid, Powder and Aqueous Solution for Electron Microscopy
Tannin (tannic acid) is a water‑soluble plant‑derived polyphenol used in electron microscopy as an auxiliary fixative and contrast enhancer. In combination with standard fixatives (e.g. glutaraldehyde, osmium tetroxide), it improves the visualization of membranes and fibrillar structures and is particularly suitable for highlighting fine details such as microtubules, microfilaments and clathrin-coated pits.
