Proper slide storage and protection is a fundamental part for evaluation and archiving of samples. The different materials from plastic to wood to cardboard and their different designs (stackable, unbreakable...) enable professional archiving, transport or shipping. Depending on the number of slides, different capacities can be selected.
Slide storage can be divided into three types.
Mailer: These small and stable storage boxes usually have a small capacity (1-10 slides). They do not have a separate labeling field or space for additional notes. Due to its small size and stable structure, this variant is particularly suitable for transporting and shipping of glass slides.
Folders: In folders, slides are inserted so that samples and labels are visible, thus enabling a quick overview and easy identification of the slides. Folders are usually made of cardboard or plastic. A large amount of information can be stored on the writable cover. Slide folders are suitable for transport only to a limited extent.
Boxes: The best possible compromise between mailer and folders. Slides are arranged vertically, therefore boxes have a larger capacity than folders, but the samples and labeling of the slides are not visible. There is a labeling option in the lid. Due to the compact design and the use of stable materials, the slides are well protected for transport and archiving.
